Cédric Chauveau
Discovering jazz at the age of 18, Cédric Chauveau developed a lifelong passion for traditional jazz piano, heavily influenced by legends such as Oscar Peterson, Hank Jones, and Ray Charles. His extensive knowledge of the Great American Songbook quickly allowed him to perform in a wide variety of lineups, ranging from intimate solo acts to driving big bands.
As a highly sought-after sideman comfortable across multiple styles—including swing, soul, and gospel—Cédric has regularly toured with world-class international soloists such as Craig Handy, Sharon Clark, Susana Sheiman, and Nicolas Bearde. He is also a valued arranger and pianist for prominent vocalists, maintaining long-term artistic collaborations with artists like Rachel Ratsizafy, Héloïse Bay, and Austrian singer Valérie Sajdik, with whom he formed a duo in 2017.
In 2013, he stepped into the spotlight as a leader by establishing the Cédric Chauveau Trio. Their debut album, It’s Only a Paper Moon (2016), was awarded « Révélation! » status by France’s Jazz Magazine. The trio expanded their discography with the release of When Mosquitoes buzz (2024). Extolled by leading European critics (Jazz Hot, Citizen Jazz) for his finesse and swinging touch, Cédric Chauveau remains a generous performer dedicated to sharing authentic, soulful emotions with his audience.

Découvrant le jazz à l’âge de 18 ans, Cédric Chauveau se passionne immédiatement pour le piano jazz traditionnel, guidé par les influences d’Oscar Peterson, Hank Jones ou Ray Charles. Sa maîtrise rigoureuse des standards lui ouvre rapidement les portes de multiples formations, du solo au big band.
Sideman particulièrement recherché pour sa polyvalence (swing, jazz moderne, soul, gospel), il accompagne régulièrement des solistes internationaux de premier plan lors de leurs tournées européennes, à l’image de Craig Handy, Sharon Clark, Susana Sheiman ou Nicolas Bearde. Il collabore également de manière étroite avec plusieurs chanteuses de renom en tant que pianiste et arrangeur, notamment Valérie Sajdik (avec qui il forme un duo depuis 2017), Héloïse Bay, ou Rachel Ratsizafy.
C’est en 2013 qu’il affirme sa propre vision artistique en fondant le Cédric Chauveau Trio. « Révélation ! » Jazz Magazine, leur premier album It’s Only a Paper Moon (2016) pose les bases de leur identité sonore. Le trio confirme son succès avec la sortie de l’opus When Mosquitoes buzz (2024).
Salué par la critique spécialisée (Jazz Hot, Citizen Jazz, Le Bulletin du Hot Club de France…), Cédric Chauveau est considéré comme un musicien d’une grande générosité, dont le style s’enracine profondément dans le jazz, le blues et le gospel.
