Il découvre le jazz un peu par hasard en 1993 grâce au pianiste Antoine Pinnilla-Munoz, puis intègre des formations de jazz montpelliéraines qui lui permettent d’acquérir de l’expérience assez rapidement. Avec la chanteuse Virginie Catoire (album « Solar »), le contrebassiste Nicola Sabato (répertoire inspiré des trios de Ray Brown), au sein des Zigjazzeurs (4tet jazz instrumental plus moderne), avec le guitariste Jean-Marc Floury (jazz-rock) ou encore le saxophoniste et flûtiste Jean-Charles Agou (jazz méditerranéen). Il acquière également de l’expérience en piano solo dans des restaurants.
En 2002, il rencontre le saxophoniste Esaïe Cid et la chanteuse Rachel Ratsizafy avec lesquels il joue au sein du groupe Jazzpel. Cette formation se produit dans de nombreux clubs de jazz prestigieux (Duc des Lombards, Sunside, Caveau de la Huchette, Baiser Salé…) et festivals en France et à l’étranger (Suisse, Belgique, Côte d’Ivoire, Sénégal, Allemagne, etc).
Il accompagne également la chanteuse Carole Gabriel, participe à de nombreuses aventures musicales et pédagogiques, intègre la formation du batteur et percussionniste Tony Savannah et le Juliette Pradelle 4tet.
En 2009, il développe sa collaboration avec Rachel Ratsizafy avec laquelle il fonde le Rachel Ratsizafy 4tet. Un premier opus sort en 2012, l’album « Out Of This World » qui reçoit un très bon accueil de la critique (notamment »coup de coeur » dans le magazine Jazzman – juin 2014). Puis l’album « Come On » en 8ctet en 2013. Ils font les premières parties d’Ibrahim Maalouf (festival Archeo Jazz) et Monty Alexander (Festival Jazz au Château de Beaupré), et joue pour le festival Radio France.
Parallèlement, il développe son trio avec Nicola Sabato (contrebasse) et Mourad Benhammou (batterie). Ce trio accompagne le saxophoniste new-yorkais Craig Handy lors d’une tournée en avril 2013. Très actif au sein du Mingus Big Band, souvent entouré des plus grands (Dee Dee Bridgwater, Herbie Hancock, Betty Carter, etc), Craig Handy est connu pour avoir joué le rôle de Coleman Hawkins dans le film « Kansas City » de Robert Altman.
En 2016, il enregistre trois albums : avec Carole Gabriel, les Swing Ambassadors et avec son propre trio (« It’s Only a Papermoon » – Black & Blue). Avec le Cédric Chauveau trio, il multiplie les tournées avec des solistes internationaux de premier plan : Craig Handy (NYC), Mandy Gaines (Cincinnati), Nicolas Bearde (LA), Susana Sheiman (Barcelone), Sharòn Clark (Washington).
Avec la chanteuse autrichien Valérie Sajdik, il enregistre l’album « Funambule » en duo en 2021. Ils se produisent en concert en France, Allemagne, Autriche, Slovaquie. Il joue également au sein du 4tet du guitariste italien Lorenzo Minguzzi (album « Namely You », 2023) en France et en Italie.
En 2023, il accompagne la chanteuse Suédoise Elisabeth Melander lors de concerts en France et co-signe la musique du film « Le Québec à vélo ». Avec le Cédric Chauveau trio, il enregistre un second opus (« When Mosquitoes Buzz » sortie en 2024), florilège de ses dernières compositions.

With singer Virginie Catoire (“Solar” album), double bassist Nicola Sabato (repertoire inspired by Ray Brown trios), within the Zigjazzeurs (4tet more modern instrumental jazz), with guitarist Jean-Marc Floury (jazz-rock) or even the saxophonist and flautist Jean-Charles Agou (Mediterranean jazz). He also gained experience playing solo piano in restaurants.
